Kalianda (Lampost.co) — The South Lampung District Health Office stated that in early January 2022 there had been no cases of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) in the local area.
“In early January 2022, there were no case reports from any puskesmas in South Lampung,” said Head of the Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Division of the South Lampung Health Service, Basuki Didik Setiawan, Friday, January 7, 2022.
Asked about the number of dengue cases in 2021, Basuki said there were a total of 222 cases from January to December 2021 and in 2020 there were 462 cases.
“If you look at the data on DHF cases in South Lampung in 2021, it will decrease compared to 2020,” he said.
However, the number of dengue cases in 2021 has decreased. However, Basuki explained, South Lampung residents must remain vigilant and not be careless. This means that people must keep their surroundings clean. In addition, apply the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle (PHBS).
To anticipate the increase in dengue cases in 2022, Basuki said, his party asked all ranks at the Puskesmas and Jumantik cadres to always encourage socialization and counseling to the community regarding dengue cases.
“We ask the cadres and the ranks of the puskesmas in every opportunity/activity to socialize and educate the entire community, to stay alert to dengue cases,” he said.
He also appealed to residents to promote a clean and healthy lifestyle (PHBS) and implement 3M including draining bathtubs, burying used items and closing water reservoirs. Then, plus sprinkling larvicide powder (abate powder) in water reservoirs that are difficult to clean, using mosquito repellent or mosquito repellent, using mosquito nets while sleeping, putting fish in water reservoirs, and planting mosquito repellent plants.
“So, all parties, both the health centers, health cadres and the community, must be aware of dengue cases,” he said.
