LaMelo Ball received the highest monetary fine stipulated in the NBA for a term used after the victory against the Bucks.
The star point guard of the Charlotte Hornets, LaMelo Ball, was fined $100,000 after using an anti-gay term during an interview after his team’s game against the United States. Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday.
The NBA announced the fine (the maximum amount allowed by league rules) on Sunday, saying Ball made an “offensive and derogatory comment” during his on-court interview.

Reporter Shannon Spake asked Ball about the team’s defensive strategy against the Bucks star, Giannis Antetokounmpo, on the last play of the game, and Ball used an anti-gay term in his response.
The escort of the Brooklyn Nets, Cam Thomas, was fined with 40,000 dollars for making a similar comment last season.
Ball, 23, scored 26 points in Saturday’s victory, including a pair of free throws with 7.3 seconds left that gave Charlotte the lead for good.
