Lamborghini Unveils Futuristic Electric Car Ahead of Schedule at Monterey Car Week

Italian supercar company Lamborghini achieved success at this year’s Monterey Car Week, as it unveiled for the first time its futuristic electric car years ahead of schedule.

It is scheduled to come the “Lamborghini Lanzador” car with high ground clearance, which is characterized by two rows of seats, but only two doors, according to what was mentioned by “Yahoo Finance”, and viewed by “Al Arabiya.net”.

The “Lanzador” model looks similar in footprint to the “Urus SUV”, although it is more “coupe” and closer to the sedan than its predecessor with the traditional internal combustion engine “Urus”.

The car was slated to be released in 2028, so it came as a surprise to many that Lamborghini revealed its concept car before the actual launch.

In terms of the powertrain, Lamborghini says, the Lanzador features an electric motor on each axle that, under certain conditions, can deliver a maximum power of more than 1 megawatt, equivalent to more than 1,000 horsepower.

The all-wheel drive system also has electronic active torque vectoring on the rear axle, meaning that power can be concentrated from left to right on the rear axle, providing “dynamic cornering behaviour”.

For his part, Lamborghini’s Head of Design, Mitja Burkert, said that the Lanzador was inspired by “spaceships”, and the heavy front appearance of the cabin and the sharp lines and wrinkles give it the appearance of a space snake from another dimension.

While Lamborghini said, the interior will come from leather from sustainable sources, 100% merino wool and is mainly from 100% renewable carbon and recycled plastic.

The company did not specify the exact price or timing of the actual launch of the new electric model.
