Lamborghini Aventador says goodbye in great style – Observer

The name says it all: “Ultimae” is the edition with which the Aventador says goodbye, a decade after its release. This version also says goodbye to the atmospheric V12, as from now on Lamborghini plans to intensify its electrification plan, which means that combustion engines will share the prominence with electrical units.

Before that, the house of Sant’Agata Bolognese once again proves that traditional mechanics have even more to offer with its new LP 780-4, extracting 780 hp at 8500 rpm from the 6.5 V12 mounted in a longitudinal rear position (LP), power this one is passed to the four wheels (4) through a transmission of seven relations (Independent Shifting Rod, ISR) capable of very fast gear changes (up to 50 milliseconds).

The 780 hp of power of this V12 represents a gain of 40 hp compared to the Aventador S or a dozen compared to the more radical SVJ. All of this to combine the best of three in one supersport: the SVJ’s performance is combined with the S’s driving dynamics and the Aventador’s unmistakable image. The result of such a combination will only be available to 600 customers, with production of the Ultimae with coupé body limited to 350 units, and the remaining 250 reserved for the roadster.

The coupé charges 25 kg less on the scale than the Aventador S (1550 kg), with a weight/power ratio of 1.98 kg/hp (identical to the SVJ), announcing 0 to 100 km/h in 2.8 seconds, to then continue at a good pace until reaching the maximum speed of 355 km/h. When braking, the CCB system comes into action, allowing the last of the “pure” Aventadors to go from 100 km/h to a complete immobilization in 30 meters.

To finish off beautifully, the customization options are challenging due to the quantity available to the customer, as the 18 standard colors that you can choose from are joined by over 300 different shades, accessible through the Lamborghini Ad Personam, the customization department of the Italian builder.
