Lambaréné: victims of regular power cuts, populations are stepping up to the plate – AGP

Lambaréné, November 13, 2023 (AGP) – The residents of Lambaréné, provincial capital of Middle Ogooué, have been demonstrating, for two days, their dissatisfaction with the regular power cuts that they have been enduring for several days, barricading several arteries in the Isaac neighborhoods , Fanguinoveny, Petit-Paris 3 and many others.

The provincial capital of Moyen-Ogooué was disrupted in its usual tranquility by a mood swing on the night of November 12 to 13.

Victims of untimely power cuts, following line disruptions from the town of Kango (Estuary) and the poor condition of certain generators, the populations decided to place barricades on the public highway, thus preventing the movement of vehicles.

For local residents, this demonstration aimed to challenge the authorities and claim their rights, as consumers and customers of the Société d’Energie et d’Eau du Gabon (SEEG).

A situation which should therefore challenge the government, the competent authorities, in order to find definitive solutions to this problem which affects the entire country.
