Lamar Jackson leaves another vein indicating he’s done with the Ravens

Lamar Jackson didn’t even bother to show up for the Baltimore Ravens’ AFC playoff game.

After five years as the face of the franchise, the Baltimore Ravens need to find a new one because it’s no longer Lamar Jackson.

Drafted 32nd overall out of Louisville by a team that moved to get him in 2018, Jackson won an NFL MVP in a Ravens uniform. If success in the playoffs has largely avoided it, who has seen a football divorce be so public? Baltimore has never had a quarterback like Jackson before. Yes, Joe Flacco and Vinny Testaverde could really spin it, but Jackson could wreck an entire team’s game plan.

With the Ravens’ season on the line against rivals the Cincinnati Bengals, Jackson didn’t even show up.

He portrays himself infamously, but that’s absolutely not the right way to do it, 100%.

The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson are heading for a brutal divorce.

Jackson may have suffered a Grade 2 knee sprain, but he could have flown from Baltimore to Cincinnati to cheer on his teammates if he wasn’t comfortable flying. The Ravens were one of 14 teams that had a chance to participate in the postseason. They’ve been a model organization since becoming a franchise in 1996. Now they’ll need a new quarterback…

No doubt, Jackson will have suitors in his free agency. Baltimore probably won’t score it after this latest episode. However, which team will want him to be the face of their franchise after the way he left Baltimore when the going got tough? Even though the Ravens will bounce back because that’s what they are, Jackson’s reputation has taken a big hit.

In the end, it can be helpful for both parties to part ways. As a child of divorce myself, you can find happiness on the other side of that. However, that this marriage made in football heaven is ending after just five seasons is shocking to say the least. It’s clear that something is going on behind the scenes that neither side wants out in the open. In due time it will probably happen and it could be ugly.

We’ve never seen an NFL superstar play the game as dangerously as Jackson.
