Lamar Jackson won the generation duel against Tom Brady – and how! The 22-year-old led the Baltimore Ravens to a 37:20 win over the previously undefeated champions New England Patriots. There were also long faces in the Green Bay Packers camp.

Until their away appearance in Baltimore, the New England Patriots had never received more than 14 points this season. All the more remarkable therefore the appearance of the Ravens around their 22-year-old playmaker Lamar Jackson. The young star achieved the most impressive victory of his NFL career to date. Jackson ran twice into the opposing end zone, a touchdown pass was added. 163 yards of space gained by throws, 61 by runs – in the end, MVP calls echoed through the M&T Bank Stadium.
Overall, the Ravens caused considerable difficulties for the Patriots on the ground. Running back Mark Ingram regularly thwarted New England’s defensive lines and collected 115 yards.
On the part of the guests, the disappointment after the first defeat after 13 wins in a row across seasons was great. After an early 0:17 deficit, Head Coach Bill Belichik’s squad came up to 20:24, but then had to swallow a 70 yard return from Marlon Humphrey to the end zone after a fumble – 20:30. This hole could then no longer be filled by Tom Brady (42), who made 30 of 46 passes for 285 yards (one TD, one INT, two sacks).
“We played like it was a championship game,” said match winner Jackson after the game and the Ravens’ fourth win (6-2) in a row. “We didn’t do anything well enough today to deserve a win. We all have to do a better job,” said Belichik, summarizing the Patriots’ performance (8-1).
Packers stay pale – Wilson’s five pack
The Green Bay Packers (7: 2) still lead NFC North, but left a lot to be desired at 11:26 at the Los Angeles Chargers. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers only had 165 yards and a touchdown, by the end of the third quarter there were only 61 yards in his statistics (career low). Running back Melvin Gordon scores two touchdowns and 80 yards for the Chargers, who improved to 4-5.
Russell Wilson, meanwhile, led the Seattle Seahawks with five touchdown passes to a 40:34 (13:21, 34:34) win in overtime against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Chris Carson ran 105 yards in 16 attempts. On the other hand, 180 yards of space gained by Bucs receiver Mike Evans was not enough for the guests from Tampa Bay (2: 6) to make the away coup.
Browns (still) on the ground
The Cleveland Browns, highly traded at the beginning of the season, who suffered their sixth defeat at the Denver Broncos at 19:24, hike into an ever deeper valley. For the Broncos (3-6) Brandon Allen threw two touchdown passes (193 yards) on his first start in an NFL game and celebrated a victory.
