“Lamar Hunt US Open Cup 2023 Schedule: 16 Matches to be Played Across the Country”

The Lamar Hunt US Open Cup 2023 schedule announced that a total of 16 matches will be played across the country on the nights of May 9 and 10.

The US Open Cup is the oldest national soccer tournament in the United States. The single-elimination tournament features professional, semi-professional and amateur teams competing for the US Open Cup title and an automatic berth in next year’s Concacaf Champions League tournament. This year’s competition began in March with 100 teams.

The round of 32 welcomes the last eight seeded Division I (MLS) clubs to the competition, which will face the 24 winners of the third round, in which 16 MLS clubs and eight teams of the USL Championship (Div. II).

The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) will kick off the 2023 edition of the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup tournament in the round of 16 away against Monterey Bay FC of the United Soccer League (USL). The game is scheduled for May 9 at 7:30 pm at the recently renovated Cardinale Stadium on California’s Central Coast.

This is the fourth time that LAFC will compete in the US Open Cup. The Club’s best performance in the tournament came in 2018, when they advanced to the semifinal round.

The LA Galaxy will host the Seattle Sounders in the Round of 16 at Dignity Health Sports Park on Wednesday, May 10, at 7:30 pm PT.
