Lalo’s lawyer will give data on ballistics expertise today – Última Hora

The legal team of the family of former Chartist deputy Eulalio Lalo Gomes, who died in a tax and police raid, calls a press conference today, at 09:00, to present the conclusion of a ballistics examination on the case.

It will be at the Tuma y Asociados Law Firm, with the presence of lawyer Óscar Tuma, who has been questioning the operation in which his client was killed.

He maintains that prima facie the official version is contradicted, which suggests that special agents shot Lalo, as a result of a confrontation in which the deceased fired shots.

The report details how the event that ended the life of the deputy supposedly occurred. Reference is made to the trajectory of the shots, the alleged manipulation of the crime scene and other evidence.

As for the shots, which are attributed to the Chartist, it is considered that he could not have fired the trigger, and it is intended to rule out the possibility of a confrontation.

It is insisted that they could have “been carried out after his death or by a third party.”

With this assertion, the aim is to establish the alleged “tampering of the crime scene,” which the family would try to prove.

It is alleged that signs “of alteration of the scene were detected, including the relocation of shell casings and damage to the doors that were not properly documented.”

Regarding the “blood patterns”, it is suggested that the blood stains indicate that the shots were fired at close range, which coincides with defensive wounds of the victim.

Other aspects, which will be part of the lawyers’ presentation, would be “inconsistencies” in the statements, since they consider that there are discrepancies between the versions of the commissioner in charge and the physical evidence.

Case. In the early hours of August 19, Gomes was killed by the police during a raid on his residence in Pedro Juan Caballero. The operation was led by agents from the Unified Intelligence Service (SIU), FOPE and the Prosecutor’s Office.
