LaLiga has achieved a new victory in its mission to combat football without rights. The Commercial Court No. 08 of Barcelona has given the green light to a request for information procedures promoted by the sports association chaired by Javier Tebas to take measures against residential clients who watch matches illegally.
This is a fairly novel movement given that until now actors who occupied more direct roles in broadcasting matches without a license, such as the website latelete.tv, had been persecuted, but not directly the users. The aforementioned procedure, which relies on data operators, takes LaLiga’s crusade one step further.
The fight against football without rights reaches users

When we talk about unlicensed football broadcasts, we talk about economic losses for the actors behind them, such as LaLiga. For example, the document mentions that in the 2022/2023 season, illegal maneuvers registered in public establishments could exceed a loss of 27.7 million euros annually.
