Lalettan has worked hard for that film, nothing to say to those who lack understanding and knowledge: Ranjan Pramod
Ranjan Pramod is a screenwriter who has written many blockbusters in Malayalam. He also gained attention as a director with films like The Photographer, Rakshadhikri Baiju and O Baby.
Ranjan Pramod’s directorial debut Photographer was a much debated film. The film starring Mohanlal was based on the 2003 Muthang incident in Wayanad.
Mani, a tribal boy, appeared in the film with Mohanlal in the lead role. Mani also won the state award that year for his performance in the film. The film, which was a controversy from the very beginning, became the talk of the town even after its release.
After the film, Mani, who came as an adivasi boy, had received some criticism asking if Mohanlal helped him and solved his problems. But director Ranjan Pramod says none of it makes any sense.
Ranjan Pramod asks what the prosecution did beyond that. He told Ginger Media that there is no need to sit on social media and respond to critics without even showing your face.
‘It doesn’t mean much. Who is Laletan acting with? Pulli does not have the system to check the contents and not in everyone’s house.
If such is reported to Pulli, he will do his best. Is it necessary to go looking just because you are acting in a movie?
What has the society that makes all these accusations done beyond making accusations? I took pains to draw attention to the issue and made a film. Laletan came in and cooperated.
He has worked hard there. Pulli stuck to the top of the rock with a good fight and climbed up to the spot. It took a lot of effort. What did these critical people do?
They did nothing. They react on social media with a fake ID without even showing their face. Who takes them all at face value? Those who are able to think about it. Let the naysayers say whatever they want.
There is no need to say anything to those who do not know or have information. They don’t do anything and the whole crime is people who do something,’ says Ranjan Pramod.
