Laksa with 17 points becomes the most productive in the Lublin “Start” Champions League home game
Lublin, October 21, LETA. With 17 points, Mārtiņš Laksa became the most productive basketball player in the Lublin “Start” team’s home game in the Champions League, but the team suffered a loss.
Lublin’s Start in its square with 85:86 (16:25, 22:19, 24:14, 23:28) acknowledged the superiority of Zaragoza’s “Casademont”.
Laksa scored 17 points in 22 minutes and 56 seconds on the court, taking two of the five two-point and three of the four three-point shots, as well as all four free throws.
He also has one rebound, three personal notes, one error +/- score of three and an efficiency of 13.
It has already been reported that the Minsk “Cmoki” game will be postponed with the Athens AEK.
This season, Latvian specialist Edmunds Valeiko continues to work in the “Cmoki” coaching corps, but two of his compatriots – Klāvs Čavars and Toms Leimanis – are fighting on the field.
In the new season, the place in the main tournament was won by all the teams that were still fighting for the trophy last season. In total, 28 clubs, including “VEF Rīga”, won a place in next season’s main tournament. Four more clubs are determined in qualifying competitions.
The clubs will play six games in each group (three games – at home, three – away), with the two best teams in each group qualifying for the quarterfinals.
Twelve days of play will take place from October to January, with teams for one group scheduled every two weeks. The first games will take place from October 20 to 21.
