Latvian basketball player Kitty Laksa scored 26 points in the Italian Cup final on Sunday and took the Skio “Famila” team to the title. The “Famila” basketball player won the “Virtus Segafredo” team in Bologna with the result 88:81 (30:24, 23:17, 20:27, 15:13).
Laksa also won the finalist’s most valuable player award. Laksa played for 29 minutes and 22 seconds, during which two of the four two-point shots, six of the eight “threes” and all four free throws were played in the basket. The Latvian basketball player also won one rebounded ball, gave one result pass, violated the rules three times, provoked three remarks and got a positive +/- score (+2). Laksa was the most productive player of the match, but Ivan Dojkiča had 25 points.
The “Famila” team is led by Georgs Dikeulaks, the former coach of the Latvian national team. On Thursday, Laksa scored 15 points in the quarterfinals, but the Skio basketball players beat Samartino’s “Fila” team, represented by Karlīne Pilābere, with 79:63. In the semi-finals of Saturday, “Famila” without Laks in the application with 96:68 defeated Luka’s “Gesam Gas e Luce Le Mura” team.
