The Milwaukee Bucks need to free up salary space and there is talk that they could leave Brook Lopez, their internal star. Bleacher Report journalist Jake Fischer said the Los Angeles Lakers would be interested in the veteran center.
Milwaukee needs options to upgrade its roster around Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. Lopez’s departure would give them salary space to explore other options.
The intern has been declining in production at 36 years of age, averaging 9.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in eight games this season.
The Los Angeles Lakers are a team that desperately needs help on the interior defense and Lopez could help Anthony Davis on the interior. If the Lakers can’t land Walker Kessler from the Utah Jazz, the organization could make a move to trade for Lopez.
“We’re talking about Brook Lopez, who I reported that the Bucks were already exploring the player’s trade value on the open market this summer,” shared journalist Fischer. “The Lakers were a team that was mentioned and they told me they have Brook Lopez on their wish list.”
The Lakers are interested in moving their pieces on the market. There is talk that Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, players of the Chicago Bulls, are also on the radar of the Los Angeles team.
