Bronny James disappoints in his preseason debut. Another Lakers gem shows off his skills.
This performance didn’t get Los Angeles Lakers fans out of their seats. In the NBA’s first preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves there was a 107:124 defeat – and a disappointing debut for Bronny James.

The son of superstar LeBron James was allowed to play at least 16 minutes, but remained completely ineffective. He only sank one of his six throws and scored two points.

James Jr. also had one assist and one rebound. At least he managed three blocks, one of which was spectacular on Minnesota’s fast break. Problem: Minnesota’s Luka Garza then got the offensive rebound quite easily and then still scored the points for the T-Wolves with a simple layup.
During Bronny’s playing time, the Lakers conceded 12 more points than they scored. So there is still a lot of room for improvement for the youngster.

The show was then stolen by another gem. Dalton Knecht, drafted together with James Jr., contributed 16 points in 24 minutes, making him the best Lakers shooter along with Austin Reaves. Winger Knecht hit seven of 13 shots and also provided three rebounds and two assists. In terms of sport, he should therefore have greater hopes than Bronny.
By the way, the Lakers decided not to use their superstars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Father and son’s joint NBA debut on the court will have to wait. And Minnesota also left their leaders out, Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle.
