An official source in the Zamalek club confirmed that the board of directors is waiting for a final response from the Portuguese former coach, Giusfaldo Ferreira, in order to return to a second term to lead the team to succeed French Patrice Carteron.
Carteron had left Zamalek training after he requested payment of the penalty clause and termination of the contract, and signed a contract to train Saudi cooperation for two seasons.
Mortada Mansour, Chairman of the Zamalek Club, previously stated that negotiations are taking place with a senior coach who consults with his assistants before making the final decision.
“The Zamalek administration is currently waiting for Ferreira’s response in the coming hours,” the source said in his statements to “Yallakora.”
He continued, “Ferrera is currently studying everything related to the team, the list and the status of Zamalek in the African Champions League, as well as the Premier League competition.”
“Ferreira is also communicating with his assistants to seek their opinion on being re-established at the head of the team’s technical management,” he added.
“Within hours, Ferreira will notify Zamalek officials of his decision, if there is an apology on his part,” he concluded. “There are some names that are being negotiated with, and the closest alternative is Argentine Calderon.”
