Actress Laila Elwi has begun filming her new film, “Maqsoum,” in her first collaboration with director Kawthar Younes, and the director’s first feature-length work after her short film, “My Friend,” which was shown last year in the Cairo Film Festival competition. Laila Elwi’s collaboration with Kawthar Younes comes after watching her short works, whether as a director or producer. Laila Elwi said that the idea of Maqsoum differs from her previous films, as it comes after a series of comedic works, and it deals with an important aspect of the life of Egyptian women.
The film “Maqsum” was written by Haitham Dabour, directed by Kawthar Younes, and produced by Blue Print, Synergy, and Misr International Films.
Laila had finished filming her role some time ago in the movie “Al Shanab”, in which she stars alongside a large number of female stars and which takes place within the framework of a situation comedy and is directed by Ayten Amin.
It is noteworthy that the star Laila Elwi is in the process of contracting a new movie that brings her together with the artist Bayoumi Fouad, after the great success she is still achieving with her movie “Sugar Daddy,” which was shown at the beginning of the summer and achieved record numbers in revenues in Egypt and the Arab Gulf countries.
