“LAIKS. YOU. PRAYER”: A Unique Easter Concert in Riga Featuring Church Songs, Prayers, and Instrumental Sound Paintings.

Yesterday – on First Easter, the unique concert was played in Riga. “I really experienced Easter tonight!” “The concert, which was, in fact, a common prayer, the soul moved, still waves and sings.” – The visitors share their emotions and excitement after the concert.

The concert starts at 21.00 – even in spring, when the days have become longer and the evenings are brighter, to wait for the darkness of the evening and shine in all its glory In the light games created by Ivars VACER. The organizers of the concert ask you not to be afraid of the late hours of the evening – it will really be worth it!

In the concert program “LAIKS. YOU. PRAYER” will play CHURCH SONGS AND PRAYERS of different centuries in Latin, Greek, Aramaic, Arabic, Church Slavonic, Latvian languages and instrumental sound paintings by the Estonian composer ARVO PERTA. The natural sound of the voice will meet the passages of the percussion instruments and vibrate the hearts of the listeners in common prayer. In the emotional experience of the spirit, the listener will be guided by the MOODS OF THE GAME OF LIGHT, allowing them to experience the story of the victory of Light in their presence.

We invite you to listen to the prayer “Our Father in Heaven” in Aramaic, the native language of Jesus. Aramaic is a language of the Semitic family with more than 3000 years of history. It is the original language of several chapters of the Bible, as well as the main language of the Talmud. The song arranged by Seraphim Bit – Kharibi is one of the most unusual and brilliant pearls of the program.

It is truly special – to hear the prayer we all know so well in an unusual, ancient, oriental sound and to realize that there are values that are dear and shared by so many people all over the world. To look for the unifying, to destroy the barriers that separate us, not to build new ones – this is the main appeal of the program. This Easter, the leader of the vocal group, Aleksandra Špitzberga, invites you to tear down at least one self-built fence between fellow human beings.

“The concerts at the beginning of the year were highly appreciated by listeners and music critics. We understood that such a special program should be played again. We really, really want to take it to Kurzemi as well. Thank you, Liepāja Lutheran Church congregation, for referring to our idea!”says program producer Māra Spitzberga.

Concerto in one movement, duration: 1 hour 15 minutes. Tickets: https://www.bilesuparadize.lv/lv/event/126674as well as – before the concert – at the venue.
