A US combat grenade (105 mm) from World War II was found today during pipeline work in Lahr’s Leopoldstrasse. The work was accompanied archaeologically.

The head of the excavation informed the city of Lahr, which, together with officers from the Lahr police station, examined the find and notified the ordnance disposal service (KMBD). The KMBD determined the degree of risk and informed that no further measures were necessary. So the construction site was released again.

The combat grenade is disposed of by the KMBD.
