For years (and decades), New York’s LaGuardia airport was considered one of the worst in the United States. But all this changed, with the expansion works and complex remodeling of the air station. And now, Terminal B was awarded the 5-Star Airport Terminal Qualification by the consultancy Skytrax. And also, it was chosen as the Best New Air Terminal in the World, in the awards that chose the best airports on the planet in 2023.
Opening in 2022, the 120,000-square-meter Terminal B at New York LaGuardia Airport provides passengers with an enhanced experience, with spacious interiors, floor-to-ceiling windows, works of art, and iconic restaurants and shops. Of primary importance, the terminal offers an intuitive design that is easy for customers to use.
“We are delighted that New York LaGuardia Airport Terminal B has been named the World’s Best New Airport Terminal and has received the first five-star rating for an airport terminal in North America by Skytrax, the leading authority in airport experience”, they said from the terminal.
With the opening of Terminal B’s second elevated pedestrian bridge in 2022, the airport became the first in the world to feature double elevated bridges over active taxiways.
A collection of public art installations is featured in the terminal through a partnership with the Public Art Fund.
Terminal B currently receives flights from Air Canada, American Airlines, JetBlue, Southwest and United Airlines.
Although it was not among the best on the planet, all the works carried out allowed it to obtain the award for the best new terminal in the world, leaving its status of being one of the worst in the United States.
