Lagona 4, Fibonacci from Lessac HDC and Bonmahon Chelsea, the 6-year-old podium at Lion Lecheval.fr

Of the 45 contenders for the 6-year-old world champion title at the Mondial du Lion (IFCE Prize), Lagona 4, ridden by the German Anna Lena SCHAAF, wins, holding the lead since the 1st test. Of the two French people who followed on the provisional podium after the cross country, only Fibonacci from Lessac HDC and Nicolas Touzaint held on and won the title of vice-champions of the 6-year-olds. Third, Bonmahon Chelsea and the Italian Rebecca Chiapero.

It’s the hard law of eventing: each test can turn things around. Nothing is ever lost or gained.

There is one however which made the law in the 6 years: the young German rider of 20 years Anna Lena Schaaf, in the saddle on an OS mare daughter of Lavagon and Ile de Cartina by Cartani 4 unrolls a recovery which is worth to her the head provisional. She is followed at less than one point by the Sarthois Tom Carlile and the mare Fair Lady des Broucks (Upsilon, AA and Double Magic Wonderland by Chin Chin). And the Angevin Nicolas Touzaint is behind Carlile at 0.3 points, with Fibonacci of Lessac HDC, a son of the stallion Carinjo * HDC, whom Nicolas and the Perron Pette couple had spotted at 3 years old. 4th and 5th, two tenors of the discipline, Julia Krajewski with a Hanoverian, Chintonic 3 (Contendro), 5th and the Briton Izzy Taylor, who presented an Irish gelding, SBH Big Wall (Power), 6th.

The cross will not change the situation, each of the six couples retaining its respective place, since all will come out of the cross.

This is the last test that will be fatal for one of them: Thomas Carlile and Fair Lady des Broucks will lose any chance of the podium at the start of the show jumping course, and will fault three times. they finish seventeenth.

As for Lagona 4, she carries out a journey which seems almost easy … and wins the 2021 6-year-old world champion title. The day before, Ana Lena Schaaf after the cross was rather confident and explained: “ It’s always a crazy feeling to be at the top of such a competition and it was a very strong feeling to do cross country today. She was really focused and I felt like she was really enjoying the crowd and I’m really excited for tomorrow. Usually she’s a super jumper but you have to see because it’s her first competition in a long time so maybe she’s a little tired after cross country today but I’m really looking forward to it. »
Julia Krajewski, German junior trainer, under whose leadership Anna Lena Schaaf was double European champion in 2019, says of this young rider: “ Anna Lena is an excellent rider, as she proved this weekend and last weekend by winning her first 4 *. The German team always needs new talents, especially able to train young horses. »

Nicolas Touzaint takes advantage of Tom Carlile’s misadventure, since Fibonnacci of Lessac HDC will stay focused and achieve the flawless that leads him to the runner-up title. What delights the rider and his owners. Nicolas explains: “” He is a horse in which I have a lot of hope and he confirmed this weekend all the good that we think of him. I was careful in my speeches because I did not really know his reactions to the atmosphere, to the audience, but in the pure quality of the horse it is really an extraordinary horse, which really has a lot of potential on the 3 tests. So he’s contained himself, he’s gained a lot of experience this weekend and he’s doing a wonderful ride. It is a real satisfaction with the result but above all with the feeling that I have had on the potential of the horse which in my opinion is truly a horse of the future. »

We must underline the fabulous recovery of the Italian Rebecca Chiapero from 14th place after the dressage test to 10th after a clear cross, in the allotted time. In the last test, the Cso, she had a very good clear course, and took 3rd place. She rode Bonmahon Chelsea, an Irish stallion, son of Chellsini Z and Bonmahon Ramiro Star by Ramiro B.
