The soaring of SV Licht-Loidl Lafnitz in the 2nd division continued on Friday evening. The league leaders won 4-1 at the start of the 13th round at Wacker Innsbruck and are therefore five points ahead of their rival FC Liefering, who will only start at Austria Klagenfurt on Sunday.
Blau Weiß Linz moved up to third place in the table with a 2-0 home win against Juniors ÖO, the GAK slipped back to fifth after a 3-1 defeat at Austria Lustenau. The FAC suffered a 2-0 home defeat against SKU Amstetten, Kapfenberg celebrated a 4-1 win against SV Horn.
Lafnitz does not want to be promoted to the Bundesliga
The leader Lafnitz, who is on the rise, does not want to make the leap into the tipico Bundesliga. As chairman Bernhard Loidl noted, the rise was not an issue. “We are still a community of 1,500 souls, we have to leave the church in the village,” said Loidl. You will not apply for a Bundesliga license.
“We lack the infrastructure and the conditions for the Bundesliga. For example, going to the Hartberger Stadium is not interesting for us, ”explained Loidl.
As Liefering is not eligible for promotion as a junior team from champions Red Bull Salzburg, the teams currently playing for third place are also fighting for promotion to the upper house.
