Every now and then a new company comes along looking to make a name for itself in the exclusive sports car market. The Italian company Laffite Automobili offers three such cars.
The company founded by Pascal Cohen and Bruno Laffite, the nephew of former F1 driver Jacques Laffite, presented three remarkable cars with a different focus.
Three essential things still unite them: The company GFG Style of the well-known Italian designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and his son Fabrizio participated in their design, in all cases they are electric cars and all cars are to be small series. The manufacturer expects to produce from 24 to 26 pieces, depending on the model.
We can start with the LM1 model, which, as the name suggests, resembles the prototype for Le Mans. Although it is a machine focused primarily on circuit fun, it will be allowed on normal roads. Laffite Automobili promises a maximum output of 858 kW (1167 hp), a maximum torque of 1600 Nm and the ability to accelerate from rest to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds. The weight should be only 1650 kg, the range then up to 410 km. It is interesting to mention the possibility to “shift” the paddles at the steering wheel and the function that is supposed to replicate the sound of selected historical racing cars.
The second novelty is the Atrax model, which is a kind of “off-road supersport”. The crossover should be available in two versions, one will be more off-road, the other should be more suitable for roads. The power of 858 kW is the same as the LM1, but the “torque” should reach up to 2500 Nm. The weight should be around 2.2 tons, the range is around 400 km, the crossover is said to be able to accelerate from zero to one hundred in 3.8 seconds and accelerate up to 240 km/h. Laffite Automobili entices with 350kW charging.
The unusual 2+1 seating configuration is also worth mentioning. And we already know the price of Atrax, it is offered for some 40 million crowns.
The last to join the party is the Barchetta, an open two-seater sports car with a very innovative design. Although it is the weakest of the three innovations, thanks to 430 kW and 990 Nm, it should still accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. According to the car manufacturer, the range reaches up to 390 km.
The closest to customers so far is the Atrax crossover, Laffite Automobili promises to deliver it as early as March next year.
