Lady Gaga’s new film will be released in October. She has now surprisingly announced a “companion album” to go with it.
Lady Gaga has made a surprise announcement that she will release a new album this Friday, September 27th. On Instagram, the musician explainedthat it is a “companion album” to her new film “Joker: Folie à Deux” (in cinemas from October 3rd), in which she plays the role of Harley Quinn.
The album is called “Harlequin” and includes 13 tracks, with titles such as “Smile”, “The Joker” and “Folie à Deux”. The songs “World on a String”, “Oh, When the Saints” and “That’s Life” also hint at some cover versions. On the album cover, Lady Gaga can be seen with a life jacket around her neck and wet red-dyed hair under a shower head.

In recent days, Gaga has shared several cryptic Instagram posts with texts and music that fans suspected were lyrics. This week, the singer also teased a new project titled “LG 6.5” with huge billboards in Los Angeles and New York – a reference to her announced upcoming album “LG7”, which is due to be released in February 2025. It is her first album since “Chromatica” in April 2020.
“Harlequin” is one of two albums for the new “Joker” film that will be released on Friday. The Icelandic composer Hildur Guðnadóttir is releasing “Joker: Folie à Deux (Score From the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack). The film with Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix will be released in German cinemas on October 3rd.
