It’s confirmed: the first single from Lady Gaga‘s pop album will be released on Friday 25 October. It’s called Disease and judging from some widespread clues he uses the metaphor of medicine to talk about illnesses to be treated, it is not clear of what type, it would seem more of the soul than of the body.
The official announcement hasn’t arrived yet, but it has popped up a page dedicated to pre-save of the single on the Universal record company website, with the title of the song and the date 25/10.
Not only that. They popped up siti whose url compose what should be clips of the song’s lyrics, as reported by Lady Gaga Now: “I could play the doctor, I can cure your disease / If you were a sinner, I could make you believe / Lay you down like 1, 2, 3, eyes roll back in ecstasy / I can smell your sickness, I can cure ya, cure your disease” (“I can play doctor, I can cure your disease / if you were a sinner I could make you believe / make you lie down in 1, 2, 3, eyes rolled back like you were in ecstasy / I can feel the smell of your illness, I can cure you, cure your illness”).
A first clue to the title Disease it had come from a playlist published by the artist on Spotify which contains 11 of his songs with the titles reformatted so that the first letters spell out the word “gagadisease”.
In the interview given to Rolling Stone on the occasion of the release of Harlequinthe album ironically named LG 6.5 being a special project linked to the music of Joker: Folie à DeuxGaga spoke about the new so far untitled pop album that will be released in February: «The pop album has nothing to do with Chromatics. It’s completely different. I don’t know if I’m ready to talk about it yet, but it’s coming out soon and I will. What I can say is that it’s all for me. It is meant to be experienced as a moment in my life. I’m very excited about this idea that I don’t have to stick to an era if I don’t want to. I can experience several eras at the same time. It seems a little crazy to me (ride) and more like me or Harley. Or to anyone.”
