Lady Gaga was raped by a music producer when she was a teenager. She became pregnant as a result of the rape. “My torturer dumped me on a street corner near my parents’ house,” the star tells in a recent interview with Oprah Winfrey. The artist was silent about this for a long time because – as she claims – she did not want to be defined by this event. She now admits that for years after the assault, she felt chronic pain and numbness in her body.

Lady Gaga was 19 when it was attacked. A music producer, whom the singer does not mention by name, ordered her to take off her clothes. If he didn’t, he threatened to destroy her career. – I just froze and I don’t even remember the act itself – confesses the singer in an interview with Winfrey. – I’m not giving his name. I understand that in the era of Mee’s movement, too many people decide to do it, but I would not feel comfortable. I don’t want to see his face ever again – he adds. As a result of the rape, the singer became pregnant.

– My torturer dumped me with my belly on the street corner near my parents’ house. He didn’t like my throwing up. Before that, I was locked in the studio for months, says Gaga.

“The body remembers”
For years after the attack, the singer felt chronic pain and numbness in her body. “I realized the pain I felt was the same pain I felt when I was raped. I’ve had a lot of x-rays and resonances. Doctors could not find the cause, but the body remembers – says the artist.

Gaga also had a mental breakdown. “I wasn’t the same girl anymore,” she confesses.
–
Ultimately, the psychiatrist diagnosed her with post-traumatic stress disorder and fibromyalgia, a disease that manifests itself, among others, in chronic pain in muscles and joints. – It took about two and a half years for me to develop methods such as therapy, caring for my body, listening and making music, which allowed me to control my pain. I slowly began to recover, admits Gaga.

The fact that Lady Gaga was raped was first told in 2014. She was silent for a long time because – as she claims – she did not want to be defined by this event. Oprah Winfrey also talked about the trauma in 2020. – I wanted to cut myself. I was having suicidal thoughts. I was wondering if I would ever do it, she confessed then.
