Lady Gaga Not Obligated to Pay Promised Reward for Finding Kidnapped Dogs: Judge’s Ruling

The judge ruled in his favor. American singer Lady Gaga will not have to pay the reward of 500,000 euros that she had promised “no questions asked” in 2021 to anyone who finds her two kidnapped French bulldogs, a Los Angeles County court ruled on Monday , Quoted by CNN.

The dogs were found and returned to the singer by a certain Jennifer McBride three days later, who claimed to have found Koji and Gustav tied to a post. But she was in reality an accomplice of the attackers. In a relationship with the father of one of them, she was in fact responsible for returning the dogs to collect the reward.

Legal action to try to recover the promised reward

She was prosecuted in the same way as the two main attackers who had kidnapped the animals, by shooting the person employed to walk them. Faced with Lady Gaga’s refusal to pay her the reward, she sued her in 2022 to obtain compensation, on the grounds that the singer had indicated that the reward would be paid “no questions asked”.

But the Los Angeles court did not consider his request legitimate. Indeed, the judge in charge of the case recalled that Jennifer McBride had admitted that she knew that the dogs had been stolen when she took them in, which makes her complicit in the action of the kidnappers and ” does not entitle him to the money.
