Shortly before the clip’s global release, Gaga shared via Instagram what is “hidden” behind the song.
“I think a lot about my relationship with my own inner demons”he wrote. “It’s never been easy for me to deal with how chaos and confusion drags me along. It makes me feel claustrophobic. Disease is about looking at that fear, facing myself and the darkness inside me, and realizing that sometimes I can’t escape the parts of me that scare me. I can try to run away, but they will always be a part of me, and no matter how much I run, I will eventually meet them again, if only for a moment. Dancing, running, cleaning. Again and again, back to me. This integration is ultimately beautiful to me, because it is mine and I have learned to manage it.”
Lady Gaga concluded by saying: «I am the conductor of my own accord. I am every actor in the plays that make up my art and my life. As scary as the question is, the answers lie within me. Basically, inseparable pieces that make me who I am. I save myself by continuing to move forward. I am my complete self, I am strong and ready for the challenge. Happy Halloween.»
