Lady A, until recently known as Lady Antebellum, had to cancel a few hours before the presentation of the Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday. A family member of one of the band members has contracted the corona virus and the group does not want to take any risks.
“So far all three of us have had a negative test result, but out of precaution and love for everyone involved in the CMA Awards, we stay at home,” the band said on Twitter. “We are disappointed that our performance with Darius Rucker and Thomas Rett cannot continue. Fortunately, Charles had already recorded his performance with Carly Pearce, so you can see that tonight. We cheer everyone from home, just like you should do. . “
The CMA Awards will be presented on Wednesday evening local time without an audience in Nashville. The show will be a combination of live performances and previously recorded segments. Miranda Lambert is the biggest contender for a CMA Award with seven nominations.
