Interesting images of the cheapest version of the new crossover Lada X-cross 5 were published on the network. The budget version of the innovation of the domestic automaker was presented by a Russian designer at the request of the editors of Quto.ru.
Sales of the new model, which is actually a Chinese crossover FAW Bestune T77 with the Lada logo, will begin in the summer of 2023. The car is expected to cost about two million rubles, which is roughly equivalent to 23,000 euros.
However, the rendering shows a “folk” version that could cost significantly less. The budget version does not have alloy wheels – the usual metal stamped wheels are installed instead.
In addition, the crossover is devoid of painted bumpers and chrome elements, and instead of LED optics, the inexpensive version of the X-cross 5 has conventional halogen headlights.
The practical approach continues in the cabin, which is upholstered in cheap dark fabric, and the touchscreen infotainment system has been replaced with a conventional audio system.
Instead of a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 149 horsepower, the low-cost version is proposed to be equipped with the usual naturally aspirated 1.8-liter engine with a capacity of 122 horsepower, which will be paired with a variator transmission.
AvtoVAZ presented the new crossover in mid-April. The company said that serial production will begin in June this year, the X-cross 5 will be the first model to be produced on the assembly line at the former Nissan plant in St. Petersburg. By the end of the year, the local manufacturer plans to produce about 10 thousand copies.
