Jānis Ķirsis emphasizes in the program “Morning Panorama” that the festival is unthinkable without music. The concert lecture on “Lāčplēsis Day” will be a very good alternative to live concerts, as well as an opportunity to hear stories about history through music.

“Students need strength, great strength at this time,” says the composer.

This concert lecture is an educational, musical story about the events of Latvia’s history in the Latvian Freedom Fights, remembering and honoring all those who have won an independent Latvian state.

This concert lecture will feature excerpts from Zigmars Liepiņš and Māra Zālīte’s rock opera “Lāčplēsis”, music from the films “Nameja ring”, “Vella kalpi”, “Pūt, vējiņi”, Ēriks Ešenvalds “Dvēseles dziesma”, patriotic music by other Latvian composers. The musical message of the concert lecture will be complemented by historical photographs and video clips.
