Lack of Vitamin B12 Linked to Premature Death and Depression, Irish Study Finds

Causes depression and more

Scientists from Ireland have found the reason why people die prematurely. It turns out that mortality at the age of 50 is associated with a lack of vitamin B12 in the body. LIFE writes about this.

Four thousand Irish people took part in the study, they took vitamins and donated blood plasma, after which it was possible to find out how B12 and B9 affect mental health.

“It turned out that B12 deficiency increased people’s chances of developing clinical depression in the next four years. At the same time, there was no connection between B9 levels and mental illness,” the scientists found.

There is evidence that depression is the cause of premature death. To avoid mental problems, you need to monitor the level of vitamin B12 in the body. You can not only drink vitamins, but also eat foods rich in this element.

Previously, doctor Manovska told what foods are not combined with wine – you will die from a hangover in the morning.
