A Chartres (Eure-et-Loir), the medical desert does not only affect humans… It is now animals that are struggling to find good care. In case of an emergency at night, you have to drive to the Paris region to get a veterinarian!
The Clinique Vétérinaire des Sablons de Chartres, located near the Carrefour shopping center, announced that it was impossible for these professionals to provide night guard service for the agglomeration, from 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. while continuing to provide animals with “qualitative care during the day”.
This situation results from the lack of veterinarians in the Chartres conurbation, according to the clinic.
Where should I take my pet?
So if your pet needs emergency care, 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., you now have to go to one of the two veterinary hospitals in south-west Paris:
• Advetia, in Vélizy-Villacoubray, allow about 45 minutes from Chartres, telephone: 01 75 45 91 09
• Frégis, in Arcueil, an hour’s journey from Chartres, telephone: 01 49 85 83 00.
