The lack of water in the towns of El Paso and Guaymaral in Valledupar, as well as in El Vallito, jurisdiction of El Paso, has been 15 days.
–
The nearly 480 inhabitants of the district of El Perro, jurisdiction of the municipality of Valledupar, are without water service for 15 days, as stated by the mayor of this town, Arturo Álvarez.
According to the official, the problem is that there are no trained personnel to properly operate the regional aqueduct that is located in the upper part of the Garupal River, from which they are supplied with the vital liquid.
He also indicated that the inhabitants of the Guaymaral district, belonging to Valledupar, are suffering from the same situation; and El Vallito, jurisdiction of the municipality of El Paso.
“This aqueduct was built a couple of years ago by the Government of Cesar and we have had good water when the flow of the river allows it and at this time it still has enough water, the liquid reaches the homes with good force that rises to the showers in the bathrooms, but the problem is that there is no one to properly operate the aqueduct, which leads to the service being suspended. Apparently, there is an agreement between the Government and the municipality, but that is every year and nothing ever happens; here the losers are the community”Álvarez explained.
He added that supposedly the town of Los Venados does not suffer from this need since, apparently, they are manipulating the aqueduct and as this is a larger population they leave the rest without water.
“Those who manipulate the aqueduct system do not open enough the gate to the pipe that supplies us with the vital liquid and for that reason we are harmed“Said the mayor of the El Perro district.
