He said that because hospitals continue to focus on addressing the issue of the Covid -19 pandemic, consultations in the area of specialties have not been reactivated, a situation whereby each month since the start of the health contingency, more than 200 women have The mammography stopped being performed and said that this is detrimental because it does not favor the timely detection of the disease.
“It is a critical situation that is being lived, we understand the issue of the pandemic but it is a long time and it has not been possible to reactivate the area of specialties, we unfortunately already had the death of a friend and another who is in stage four cancer because medical attention has not been given ”.
He said that the lack of medical attention is not due to the medical staff of the clinics, since they are willing to fulfill their tasks, however, he said that the IMSS authorities are the ones who have not done anything to return care to the beneficiaries.
He added that the reactivation of the area of specialties for the timely detection of breast cancer is urgent and said that they hope that no more deaths will be registered due to the lack of appointments for the various specialties.
