On Sunday March 13, Laura Palméri, soon to be 14, from the Lacaune Swimming cluster created two years ago in partnership with Castres Water Sports, took part in an interdepartmental swimming competition in Cahors. In this meeting entitled “Confrontation jeunes-juniors-seniors” which took place at the Divoneo swimming pool, the young Laura Palméri, the only Lacaunaise athlete involved, took part in three races and won 3 medals, including one gold.
In the 200m breaststroke, without a reference time since it was his first participation, our junior won the silver medal in the time of 3’12”48. In the 50m butterfly, also silver medal with a time of 33”49, improving on her best performance of 1”63. Finally, it was in the 200m X medley that the schoolgirl from Montalet won the gold medal in the time of 2′ 56″18, improving her old record by more than 6 seconds. Laura well deserved this medal. gold because she was the only one under 3 minutes.
It is the result of hard work over the past few months with his coaches from Castres Sports Nautiques (CSN), joined by his mother Coralie, three times a week at the Lacaune pole (Sources-Chaudes swimming pool) and occasionally at the swimming pool the Archipelago of Castres. Laura is therefore qualified for Toulouse on April 2 and 3, during the spring Occitanie regional championships.
Congratulations to Laura, the first Lacaunaise medalist swimmer, hoping for further progress and why not a regional medal? This is our best wish!
