Tuesday, December 29, 2020, the office of the association of blood donors of the country of Lacapelle met to prepare the next collection which will take place on Monday January 11 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the village hall of Lacapelle -Marival. The health crisis is impacting many blood drives and supplies are dwindling. Hospital activity remains very strong and 10,000 donations per day are needed to meet the needs of patients. No drug can replace blood and the lifespan of blood products is limited: 7 days for platelets, 42 days for red blood cells. The EFS therefore calls on donors to mobilize to save lives during the next blood drive! Info COVID-19: All precautionary measures are implemented on blood drives to avoid the risk of transmission of the virus with the wearing of a mask compulsory for all, accompanied by measures of distancing and reinforced hygiene. People with symptoms of Covid must wait 28 days after symptoms disappear to donate blood.
The main conditions for donating blood: Be in good health, be between 18 and 70 years old, weigh more than 50 kg and not have been transfused. Bring your identity card. It is recommended not to come on an empty stomach and to drink well before and after donation. The 5 blood drives carried out in Lacapelle in 2020 saw a record number of donors.
