LOMBOKPOST-The Labulia Village Government (Pemdes) ensures that there are no cases of monkey pox affecting its village residents.
This was after the release of laboratory results from Surabaya, that a resident with the initials A received negative results for suspected monkeypox.
“Thank God, I have received news (Central Lombok Health Service, ed.) that the results are negative for monkey pox,” said Labulia Village Head Mahjad when visiting residents’ homes in Labulia Hamlet, Labulia Village, Jonggat District, Wednesday (15/11).
He was grateful and took lessons from the incident. So that it can be a lesson for the public and social media, that until there is valid information it does not necessarily confirm the news of this monkey pox case.
“So that our society does not feel irritated by news that is not yet clear,” he said.
Wildan, as A’s parent, said that he was very grateful that the laboratory results of his son’s illness were negative for monkey pox. However, he only regretted that a number of media reported on the child without any confirmation from the family.
Because the photos circulating about his son having monkey pox are not true. “We, the family, are very embarrassed and worried, because the photo is not a photo of our child,” he explained.
Currently, his son has returned to work as usual. Even though he had previously experienced mental stress due to the news that he was suspected of having monkey pox. “With this news (negative, ed.) we have calmed down, working as before,” added Wildan.
Head of the Disease and Environmental Control Division (P2KL) of the Health Service (Dikes) Loteng Lalu Putrawangsa confirmed that he had received laboratory results from the Central Health Research and Development Agency (Balutbangkes) at 13.00 WITA that the patient with the initials A was negative for suspected monkey pox.
“We ask the community health center to immediately carry out further monitoring at the residents’ homes, whether there are other symptoms or what,” he explained.
He explained that the smallpox experienced by A was ordinary smallpox in general but had an infection. “This smallpox should no longer exist, but due to weather factors, the virus (mutates, ed) so strong body resistance is needed,” said Putrawangsa. (poem)
