There are currently 12,260 infected in the Czech Republic, the most since the beginning of the epidemic. In most of them, however, the disease is mild. According to the latest data on Thursday, 264 patients were hospitalized with covid-19. This follows from information on the website of the Ministry of Health.
Since March 1, when the first cases of coronavirus infection appeared in the Czech Republic, 33,860 infections have been recorded. About two-thirds of them recovered from the disease and 450 people with covid-19 died.
In the past seven days, the Czechia recorded 6,627 new cases of infection, which is almost double the previous week. With 62 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, it is the worst compared to its neighbors.
It is almost eight times higher than in Poland, which has had about eight new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the past week, the lowest of neighboring countries. Compared to Germany, the Czechia has six times more cases per capita.

More tests
Laboratories in the Czech Republic have been testing more in recent days. From Tuesday to Thursday, they always performed more than 15,000 tests. The total number of tests has already exceeded one million. However, the share of positive tests is also increasing. It was less than five percent on Monday, over seven percent on Tuesday and Wednesday, and more than nine percent on Thursday. The ministry will publish the number of tests on Friday and their balance on Saturday evening.
The worst situation is now in the Plzeň-jih district, where more than 132 infected people have grown per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days. This is followed by Prague and its surroundings. In the capital, laboratories have registered almost 118 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, while in the Beroun and Kladno regions it is the same as approximately 117 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

On Friday, the ministry updated the so-called traffic light, which shows the risk of infection in individual regions on a map. In the second orange stage, next to Prague, there are new districts of Beroun, Kladno, Kolín, Prague-East and Uherské Hradiště.
In these five districts, the opening hours of catering facilities will be limited from Monday, September 14, as now in the capital. Restaurants and bars will need to be closed daily between midnight and 06:00. Restrictions on traffic will also apply to all other Central Bohemian districts, even if they are green on the map, said Dana Šalamunová, a spokeswoman for the local hygienists.

Regions across the country, with the exception of Silesia, have recently moved to the green alert level, which indicates the occurrence of the disease without community transmission. Instead of the current ten, there are forty such areas.
From Thursday, due to the worsening epidemic situation, it is mandatory to wear a veil indoors inside buildings throughout the country. Since the beginning of September, the obligation to protect your mouth and nose when traveling by public transport or visiting offices and medical and social facilities has been in force.
