Labor protest against Starbucks reaches Times Square

Starbucks employees rallied in Times Square to support several workers in Tennessee who were fired for trying to unionize.

Seven employees in Memphis say they were fired after trying to unionize.

Since they were fired on February 8, the employees have demonstrated outside the premises located in that city.

Now this protest is spreading across the country with a new union called Starbucks Workers Unitedwhich requires that laid-off workers be reinstated.

Last week, several Starbucks stores here in town announced that they would join the more than 60 Starbucks locations nationwide seeking to join the business giant’s union.
