Survivors of the terror on Utøya were among the participants at a digital party meeting in Tromsø on Tuesday. Suddenly one of the participants shouted “Free my friend, Anders”.
– It was a shocking experience, says group leader Tone Marie Myklevoll in Tromsø Ap to VG.
– We were all put out and many were scared, says deputy Olga Goldfain, to Northern Lights, who first mentioned the case.
– We had a digital member meeting where we were to discuss proposals for new policies that we were to submit to our county annual meeting, which will be soon. When our party leader had welcomed us and talked about what we should do, I heard noises, says Myklevoll.
«Free Anders, my friend»
– When I listened, it was shouting. Our manager did not hear it because he was talking. I heard a male voice say: “Free Anders, my friend” over and over again, she says.
And tried to find out who it was.
– When I understood what it was about, I looked up who was connected, around 30 people. We tried to find out who it was, but he had disconnected.
She says they and AUF checked their membership lists.
– But suddenly someone started writing in the chat, she says:
“Free my guy, Anders,” he wrote.
– They had a message, linked to the ongoing trial against the terrorist. This was aimed at the Labor Party and was support for the terrorist. I’m quite sure of that, she says.
– Survivors from Utøya
Myklevoll says it’s terribly sad. They experience that the goal is to create fear in the everyday life of her party.
– These were Labor people who meet to make new policies in their spare time. People who are engaged in society. It is difficult to understand how it affects those who were close to what happened during the terror that hit AUF on July 22, 2011:
Meeting participants were present on Utøya on 22 July 2011.
– There were survivors from Utøya at the meeting and there were parents of survivors, she says.
