There are professions that not only turn out to be resistant to any crises, both strictly economic and those related to, for example, a pandemic, but in addition, the demand for them is growing from year to year. These are primarily engineering positions that require specialist knowledge and skills. According to a report by the recruitment company Bergman Engineering, there are five of them.

We currently have both in Poland and abroad specialist market. And mainly in the manufacturing sector, where Industry 4.0 is particularly important, but also in e-commerce and in the FMCG industry. This is where they have the most to do production and process engineers, automation and robotics engineers, electrical engineers, programmers and testers, as well as supply chain management specialists, i.e. logisticians and buyers. They do not have to be afraid of losing their jobs in the coming years, on the contrary – this type of specialization will be even more desirable. The analysis by Bergman Engineering shows that soon the employment of engineers in Poland is to increase by 20 percent, and in Europe by 12 percent.

The demand for these professions is growing
Production / Process Engineer is typically a person employed in industrial technology departments, most recently especially in sectors such as FMCG and pharmacy. In the same sectors, there is a great demand for people working in the professions automation and robotics in the maintenance department. According to Bergman Engineering data, the increase in recruitment for this type of position has increased by 50% in recent years.

There are also certain professions electrical specialist and electrical engineer. According to Tomasz Szpikowski, president of Bergman Engineering, quoted by Pulshr.pl, “only over the last year, the increase in inquiries for the recruitment of specialists in this area reached 200 percent. There are so few of these experts in the labor market that their position is practically untouchable“.
Programmer and tester – the demand for these professions prevails in the e-commerce sector. The data shows that the demand for these employees increased by 150% over the last year. They are also in demand in the e-commerce sector supply chain management specialists.

It is not only “hard” knowledge that counts
The observation of the Devire recruitment company shows that the progressive automation of production plants will inevitably increase the demand for highly specialized employees combining competences from various areas, including automation, electronics and IT.
– As you know, the costs associated with automation processes pay off relatively quickly and more and more companies decide to implement production automation investments. After the implementation of robotic production stations, the structure of the employed personnel changes, the number of unskilled workers decreases – sums up Tomasz Szpikowski.
However, experts point out that today not only “hard” knowledge and skills matter in the labor market. The so-called soft competences, allowing for better communication and integration with the team, and in the case of managers – leadership skillswithout which it is difficult to talk about effective management of a group of employees and implementation of new solutions.
