Labastide-Saint-Pierre. Claas, a company open to young people

The Claas Group has its origins in a milk centrifuge company founded in 1887 by the German Franz Claas.

Today, Claas specializes in agricultural machinery. It is part of the Louis Gay group of establishments, a company that operates in the agricultural equipment wholesale trade sector.

At a time when politicians, whatever their tendency, are praising the virtues of learning, the establishment, located in the industrial zone of Labastide-Saint-Pierre, rue de Trévise, has moved from words to deeds. More specifically, Claas responded favorably to the request made by Marion Baudry, from the work-study campus of the Sud Agromat rural family home, in Escatalens.

Thus, on January 18, Nicolas Bernard, Rémi Faydi and Benjamin Touvet opened the doors of their company by welcoming, all day, nineteen pupils from the level of the third class who were able to benefit from a discovery of the company then of an approach on the ground of the trade of agricultural mechanic.

At the end of the day, everyone, on both sides, said they were delighted with this experience to be repeated. Indeed, the company, which the pupils were able to discover, was able to show the interest of the profession of agricultural mechanic to young people sensitized by the media environment rather than to the work of motorcycle or even automobile mechanics. In addition, and it should be underlined, the company graciously provided awareness raising on occupational safety issues and first aid gestures within the workshop. A beneficial education for high school students for their future professional life and, more generally, for their life in society as a whole.
