On stage, Isabelle Carré is currently performing, at the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin, the play La Serva Amorosa. Meet an actress who has more than one string to her bow.

Just before the curtain rises, Isabelle Carré becomes a clever servant in La Serva Amorosa. In the play, the character puts all his genius into getting his master out of a bad situation. A theatrical work which is more than two centuries old and which still has a lot to say, as much for the spectators as for the actress: “It really doesn’t look like this piece is more than two centuries old. The playwright wrote the lead role for a servant, that’s what’s revolutionary. We understand this piece with the echo that it can have today with the MeToo movement, but also with the social difficulties that many women are going through today”.

The main character shows that intelligence can help you get out of any situation: “With words, with thought, with critical thinking, with observation, a sense of repartee, with this we can make our way in life”. A feminist vision that touches Isabelle Carré, who explains her vision of feminism: “For me, feminism means making these words heard and not being in denial, by taking the measure”.
