The Selecta arrived in the United States on Monday night and subsequently held their first training session ahead of the match against Bonaire, the first friendly match of the March FIFA date for the blue and white team. With some players yet to join, Spanish coach David Dóniga assured that he will have clear ideas of the defensive approach and tactics prior to the match.
“First day of work, today (Tuesday) some footballers come who still have an adaptation day to arrive taking into account that some come from playing Saturday and Sunday, and that load of games prevents us from being able to do a 100% complete session of Máximo performance,” said Dóniga. The coach said that they are preparing for the match with the Bonaire team and they will also do so this Wednesday morning before the match, “with clear ideas” about the defense approach and tactics for the match.
Dr. Heriberto Guerrero assured that the climatic state becomes a little complicated due to the issue of low temperatures of approximately 5°. Guerrero said that the team arrived well except for Bryan Tamacas and Amando Moreno who did not train the first day due to muscle overload in their respective MLS teams, but that their performance will be evaluated to take them into account or not.
The Cuscatleco team will play the first friendly match against the island team of the Netherlands at 5:00 pm El Salvador time, a match where the team intends to break the streak of 19 negative games.
