La Russa: “I didn’t choose the name Benito but I’m proud of it”

“My name, at the registry office, is Ignazio Benito Maria”. Ignazio La Russa explains it to Piero Chiambretti of which he is a guest for ‘Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown’ broadcast in prime time today on Rai3.

“I didn’t choose the name, I was too young” continues the president of the Senate who thus responds to the host who points out that since ’94 that second name has not appeared in the ‘Navicella’, the historic yearbook which collects the photos and the official biographies of the parliamentarians, and ironically fears censorship: “No. I’m proud. Isn’t it there? I didn’t know, I’ll have it corrected”, replies La Russa.

The interview ends with another quip from Piero Chiambretti who asks the FdI co-founder if he feels “more anti-Juve or anti-fascist”: “I can say that on Monday I’m going to lunch with Moggi… It means that I am never ‘anti’ but always ‘pro’, always pro truth.”
