Almost every two months, the Robros blow out a candle at La Roche-sur-Yon. A tournament, a meal, a meeting… the Robretières football club multiplies the celebrations for its 50th anniversary.
The 50-year-old with 435 licensees and 25 teams is doing like a charm. Even if the season was marked by the relegation of the first team (R3).
“Maybe a blessing in disguise”, slips Emmanuel Naud, the sports coordinator. The former No. 6 is not one to feel sorry for himself. “It’s the law of sport. It will lead us to reflect and project ourselves forward. »
Especially since the 9e club of the Vendee does not lack advantages. With its lawns nestled at the bottom of the Pyramids, the Robretières Football Club has long earned a reputation as a trainer.
With us, we welcome all young people. We don’t do elitism. We try to instill in them values such as respect and mutual aid.
“We already have 120 registration requests for the next season. Every year, we turn people away. »
“The club belongs to everyone”
The Robros could do more. With its budget of around €290,000, the club is limited in its ambitions. “We lack a stable ground to welcome new members. The City is aware. It recognizes our socio-educational work. It accompanies us financially and in our administrative procedures. »
Just like the patrons (€73,000) who believe in the values of the reds and blacks: pleasure, respect, rigor, cooperation, conviviality.
A motto displayed in large in the clubhouse. Words to which Manu Naud would like to restore brilliance.
I would like the stadium to not just be a place where you meet the staff, the employees and the educators. I would like it to become a living space. The club belongs to everyone. Not five or ten people.
Looking for volunteers
To trigger this dynamic, the staff is looking to expand its team of volunteers. In particular its board of directors (18 members). A management called upon to act in consultation with the two CDIs, the five apprenticeship contracts and a civic service.
“Today, given the complexity of the missions, we are obliged to have pros with the baggage to take care of beginners up to 17-18 years old”, underlines the president who has contributed to the professionalization of the club.
“If the structure is strong behind, the guys who are going to play will feel it. This was the case when we made our successive climbs up to DSR (R2). If the club lives well, you can go get something, ”places Manu Naud. Before thinking of going back to the Region, the technician wants to work “on the framework” and “the state of mind”.
Keep the mix
These guidelines will be developed by management in mid-June, in front of all members and parents. The opportunity also to present certain projects in the boxes such as the creation of a futsal section, handicap futsal or the establishment of a city-stadium in the Terres-Noires.
Not to mention the girls, “going from one to 20 in the space of one season”, details the management. “We don’t want to create a women’s section. We want to keep the mix. Once grown, they can reach Saint-André. »
A way to preserve the identity of the club, known for nurturing talents before seeing them fly to La Roche VFSaint-André or Le Poiré.
“Black, white, Arab, worker or boss, athletic or not, with us, everyone is welcome. »
