The Governing Council has approved today an item of more than 1 million euros, specifically 1,080,000 euros, to promote the creation of Workshop Schools and Trades Houses promoted by La Rioja town halls or associations, foundations and other non-profit entities. profit, with headquarters and scope of action in La Rioja, provided they have the technical and management capacity for its execution.

An action, as indicated by the spokesperson for the La Rioja Executive, Lex Dorado, which is framed within axis 3 of the 2021-2023 Vocational Training and Employment Plan, created by the Government of La Rioja with the Social Dialogue, to favor and encourage job opportunities among unemployed minors under 25 years of age. It should be remembered that a Workshop School is a temporary project in which learning and qualification alternate with productive work in certain activities. Specifically, they offer a first stage of an initiation formative nature, for 6 months, and another stage of training alternating with work and professional practice, of 6 or 12 months.

The projects with preference to receive the subsidies will be those destined to provide experience in activities typical of agriculture, livestock, gardening and nurseries, as well as the environmental recovery of urban or peri-urban environments; those related to Building and Civil Works, Electricity and Electronics, Energy and Water, Installation and Maintenance, as well as activities related to the recovery of homes, buildings and public spaces; and, also, those related to the professional branch of Sociocultural Services, with activities aimed at children, youth, education, leisure and free time.

These activities should enable students to carry out effective work directly related to their training, in order to promote their professional qualification and, thus, achieve their job placement. It should be remembered that, during the first semester, students receive a training grant of 180 euros per month; and during the second practical stage they are signed a work contract for which they receive 75 percent of the minimum interprofessional salary monthly.

There are currently three Workshop Schools in operation, two in Logroo and one in Haro, to train 35 unemployed young people over 16 and under 25 years of age.
