The Premier League and the ‘Big Six’ clubs are on the verge of reaching an agreement on the penalties they would face for trying to join the European Super Eagle, according to the Daily Mail.
Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham all withdrew from controversial breakup plans days after their announcement,
Their decision came after the outrage of the football world.
The six English clubs have reportedly joined Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan and Juventus in a rebellious European championship.
They will now be punished for their involvement in the plans. But it will be in the form of fines rather than point deductions.
It is understood that the Big Six want a sanction similar to that imposed by UEFA last month, which each was fined around £ 1.5million.
The money would be donated to children’s football and grassroots football across the continent.
