Massive displacement to La Palma to see the volcano taking advantage of the bridge. Plane and boat tickets are practically sold out and the occupancy on the Isla Bonita is close to 90%.
Many islanders have even taken advantage of the Canary Islands Government tourist vouchers to book a couple of hotel nights. But not all have been organized in the same way. David Déniz, president of the Canarian Association of Travel Agencies in the Tenerife province, points out that there will be more boats than usual and that 10,000 people are expected to arrive daily. However, he points out that they are aware that there are groups of people who have not booked accommodation and are going to spend the night in their vans. For this reason, he has asked for prudence and respect.
On La Palma they prepare to receive visitors in an orderly manner. To avoid crowds, a free shuttle bus service has been enabled until Monday to facilitate the movement of people to the Plaza de la Iglesia de Tajuya, where the volcano can be seen.
